ZACC 2024 is all about storytelling and as the adage goes “A picture is worth a thousand words.”
We are excited to be be hosting a photo contest during our ZACC 2024 icebreaker on Monday evening, with a public vote in winners of each category.
The winners will receive a frame for their photo, painted by one of our furry or feathered friends from Utah’s Hogle Zoo or Tracy Aviary.

ZACC Photography Contest Themes/Categories
Urban Wildlife- photographs focusing on either cooperation or conflict between humans and animals in human dominated settings
“Call to Action”- photographs that tell a conservation/sustainability story or problem
Trail Camera- photographs that capture a unique or normally unseen behavior through trail camera technology
Animal Portraits- photographs highlighting the personality or intrinsic qualities of an animal
Climate- photographs that expose realities of climate change and its effects on ecosystems/species
Landscapes/habitat- photographs displaying why the species is uniquely adapted to thrive in its environment
Macro Photography- photographs focusing on what the naked eye cannot always see
Nighttime- photographs capturing the nocturnal world
Field Fail- humorous photographs of when things don’t always go as planned in the field. Include a short description of what led to these moments
